So angry I can't see straight
Jun. 4th, 2009 12:55 pmSo in Sacramento two morning DJs on Mac 28th decided that transgendered people aren’t fully human, and that it would be OK to ridicule them. But not just any transgenders, no. Transgendered CHILDREN. I’m not even going to repeat their words here because frankly I don’t want to dignify them. You can go here to HuffPo if you want to read some of what they said.
The essence of their rant was this: transgendered people aren’t normal and so they should be beaten until they are normal. They suggested that transgendered people aren’t quite even human.
But the most disgusting part? The station manager’s defense: “The show is filled with hyperbole and they use exaggerations to make a point,” Jim Fox said.
What point, I PRAY, could there be behind their vitriol? The jocks themselves said they were joking. But I wonder, if they were talking about homosexuals or blacks or Koreans would the manager rush to their defense? Would he find them as hilarious then? Of course not. So why is it OK to malign and advocate violence against transgendered people? So I say GLAAD should sue the station and the jocks should be tried under the existing hate speech laws. And none of these fuckers should ever be able to work in radio again.
