I'd rather not, BUT...
Jan. 3rd, 2008 01:59 amI talked with the person at the local Korporate Kroger Assimilatee this morning and she indicated that I might have been hired. Fun. I get to go in to sign some papers on Friday which I presume will seal the deal. Wicked. Once I’m officially a Kroger Klown I get to wait until a training session opens up. I can wait a while for that, as long as I know it’s coming. I’d almost rather it didn’t happen until February. I don’t like having so little money, but I like not working. I’m torn. :) The practical bastard in me says, “Let’s get it done with so I can get back to earning a paycheck!” while the lazy lout says, “Why? Work is hard and I like sitting around.”
Anyway, I’m sure you’re all thrilled to know this. I’d almost rather it were any store but Kroger. Still, needs must. I can hold my nose. Besides, for all my talk of hating Kroger and corporate grocery stores, I still shop there all the damn time, so it’s not like my principles are really getting much of a workout. If by some chance something else comes along (something non-union, please, God?) I’ll jump ship, but for the next few years I don’t see the harm.
